enable lldp
Purpose Used to enable LLDP operation on the Switch.
Syntax
enable lldp
Description This command is used as a global control for the LLDP function. When this function is
enabled, the switch can start to transmit LLDP packets and receive and process the
LLDP packets. The specific function of each port will depend on the per port LLDP
setting. For the advertisement of LLDP packets, the switch announces the information to
its neighbor through ports. For the receiving of LLDP packets, the switch will learn the
information from the LLDP packets advertised from the neighbor in the neighbor table.
The default state for LLDP is disabled.
Parameters None.
Restrictions Only Administrator and Operator-level users can issue this command.
Example usage:
To enable LLDP:
DGS–3426:5#enable lldp
Command: enable lldp
Success.

disable lldp
Purpose Used to disable LLDP operation on the Switch.
Syntax
disable lldp
Description This command is used to stop the sending and receiving of LLDP advertisement
packets on the Switch.
Parameters None.
Restrictions Only Administrator and Operator-level users can issue this command.
Example usage:
To disable LLDP:
DGS–3426:5#disable lldp
Command: disable lldp
Success.

config lldp message_tx_interval
Purpose Used to change the packet transmission interval.
Syntax
config lldp message_tx_interval <sec 5–32768>
Description This command is used as an interval to control how often active ports retransmit
advertisements to their neighbors.
Parameters message_tx_interval – Changes the interval between consecutive transmissions of
LLDP advertisements on any given port. The range is from 5 seconds to 32768
seconds. The default setting is 30 seconds.
