Using Site Provisioning Profiles
The Polycom
®
RealPresence
®
Resource Manager system allows you to use site
provisioning profiles as a way to dynamically manage endpoint settings.
This chapter describes RealPresence Resource Manager system site
provisioning operations. It includes these topics:
• “Site Provisioning Profiles” on page 227
• “Edit Site Provisioning Profile” on page 227
• “Available Settings for a Site Provisioning Profile” on page 228
• “Setting up Endpoint Naming and Number Schemes” on page 238
Site Provisioning Profiles
With site provisioning, you can ensure that all dynamically managed
endpoints within a site (one or more network subnets) have the optimal and
correct settings respective to their network location. For more information
about dynamic endpoint management, see “Understanding Dynamic
Endpoint Management” on page 197.
Site provisioning takes precedence over any other provisioning profiles that
are applied to the endpoint.
Site provisioning details are managed at the site-level. You can edit them at
any time. See “Setting Up Site Topology” on page 399 for more information
about sites.
Edit Site Provisioning Profile
As soon as an endpoint is configured to use the RealPresence Resource
Manager for its provisioning server, it starts polling for provisioning profile
updates. So to ensure out-of-box usability, the RealPresence Resource
Manager system comes with a default Site Provisioning Profile.
